My acer 8400 travelmate was working well till it went on hibanation. I connected the power cable and on switching on it requested for a bios password. Its using the phoenix bios and i had not set any password since i bought it. Is there a way i can bypass or reset the password? Please help *

Try removing the CMOS battery and live it out for atleast 8minutes, them put it back in . . . . .Good luck. *

Cmos on a laptop. Do you have warranty on it? First try to flood the keyboard buffer by holding a key then starting it up keep it in even if you get the sound see if pc reboot and resets it. Otherwise *

Also try removing hdd during boot this has been know to reset the password. Then you could look for a bios upgrade aswell. For flooding the keyboard buffer do following ignore above post one. Wait for password prompt and keep escape key pressed in or keep pressing it
